Sinopsis
Kisah
penghijrahan warga Cina ke Malaya dan bagaimana kekayaan serta
kemewahan dikatakan tidak dapat dikekalkan melepasi generasi
ketiga setiap keluarga.
The story is
based on an old Chinese saying that wealth can never be retained
pass the third generation of the family. The story focuses on
the life of Chan Wah who migrated to Malaya together with
hundreds of young Chinese men to seek his fortune here. His lack
of education forced him to work in the tin mines, but over time
he managed to build up small fortune. He enters into an arranged
marriage with a girl from China, and has a son Charlie, and a
daughter Judy, both of whom were sent to Britain to further
their studies. Charlie inherits his father's shrewd business
sense and manages to increase the family's wealth. But Judy is
often ignored by Chan Wah because daughters are not considered
important. Armed with a degree in fashion design, she wants to
prove that she too can be successful.
